ELMHURST — A woman walking near her home was sliced in the neck by a suspect who demanded to know if she lived alone, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was near Hampton Street and Baxter Avenue at 2:40 a.m. on July 28 when a man approached her and put a sharp object to her neck, according to police.

The suspect — described as in his 30s, standing about 5-foot-9 and weighing 180 lbs — repeatedly asked if she lived alone and sliced her with the object, police said.

He fled after she screamed for help, according to the NYPD.

She was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition.
