UPPER EAST SIDE — As the sun blazed down on the pavement this week, residents donned flowy dresses and shirts or kept it sporty with tank tops and workout outfits to keep cool.
By noon on Friday, temperatures had surged to 90 degrees, and Upper East Siders braved the heat wearing their coolest outfits, including sales assistant Mike Mannion, 25, who said it's all about the Under Armour and athletic clothing to keep cool in the summer sun.
French Embassy employee Pervemche Beurier, 35, just left her home on Park Avenue when she explained that she wears large T-shirts and skirts to keep the heat off.
Home help aide Maria Acosta, 35, said she stays fresh by wearing flowy clothes.
On his way to the gym, J.J. Caruncho, 22, who's an actor, said his clothes actually reflect the sun.
Orthodontic resident Zach Hirsch, 27, was sporting a tank top on Friday in hopes of getting a tan, she said.
