SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG — A man on his motorcycle took an argument to the next level by assaulting another man with his motorcycle helmet, police said.

The victim, a 38-year-old man, said he got into a verbal argument with the suspect Thursday, July 23 around 8:15 p.m. on Grand Street near Kent Avenue, police said.

The argument escalated, and the suspect, who was about 45 years old, 6 feet tall and 200 pounds, hit the man in the head with a motorcycle helmet, causing cuts and swelling to the victim's face and head, police said.

It wasn't clear if the two men knew each other.

The suspect, who wore a black leather jacket, then fled on a motorcycle, police said.

No one has been arrested for the incident.
