Woman Snags $2K in Makeup, Including 33 Lipsticks, From SoHo Sephora: NYPD

SOHO — A shoplifter at a Sephora in SoHo tried to make off with nearly $2,500 in makeup, including 33 lipsticks, police said. 

The woman, Xian He, 24, stuffed 53 items, worth a total of $2,378, into her bag at the 555 Broadway store on July 23, at about 7 p.m., police said.

He actually purchased two makeup items at the register, but attempted to leave the store with a back pack filled with stolen goods, police said.

He was charged with petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, both misdemeanor offenses.

According to the Manhattan District Attorney's office, she was granted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal, known as an ACD, and ordered to complete one day of community service.
