THE BRONX — Rapper Bobby Shmurda's girlfriend tried to smuggle in a shank in her bra to give to him on Rikers Island, where he's being held on gun and drug charges, prosecutors said Thursday.

Kimberly Rousseau brought Shmurda — real name Ackquille Pollard — a “home-made knife” in her bra during a June 21 visit to the detention center, according to the Bronx District Attorney's office.

She was caught by guards as she reached for the sharp metal object, which was hidden in a latex balloon in her bra, according to the Daily News. She pleaded not guilty to two counts of promoting prison contraband and criminal possession of a weapon at her arraignment on Wednesday, prosecutors said.

The Brooklyn rapper, who is perhaps best known for his viral Shmoney Dance, was hit with the same weapons and contraband charges as well as three counts of perjury for lying to a grand jury about the incident, prosecutors said. Shmurda pleaded not guilty to all six counts.

The 20-year-old rapper has been in custody since December 2014 when he and alleged members of the GS9 crew from East Flatbush were arrested and indicted on gun, drug and shooting charges.

Shmurda, jailed in lieu of $2 million bail, had previously been held in protective custody at the Manhattan Detention Center, officials with the Department of Correction said in February.

Shmurda’s attorney, Kenneth Montgomery, said he has been at Rikers for “some time,” but would not elaborate. He would not comment on the new charges stemming from the June 21 incident.

Rumors that Shmurda has been stabbed in jail have proliferated on the Internet since his arrest. In an interview with Billboard on Feb. 7, Shmurda denied those reports, saying, “It's nothing but rumors, man. I'm good. Everybody knows I'm good. I'm chilling.”

A trial for the gang-related charges is set for Oct. 5 in Manhattan.

He is due back in Bronx Supreme Court on Oct. 14 for the newest charges related to the contraband knife.
