TRIBECA — Freshly baked bread, pastries and cafe fare, all with a French twist, have found a home in the neighborhood.
Maison Kayser, a boulangerie, or bakery, which started in Paris in 1996, has opened its newest location at 355 Greenwich St.
Along with it fresh breads, sweets and coffee, the sit-down eatery offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a selection of seasonal French bistro fare. Along with salads, sandwiches, and tartines — French-style, open faced sandwiches — you'll find larger dishes like Beef Bourguignon, a beef strew cooked in red wine sauce, for $23 and Poularde "Bourgeoise", roasted organic chicken, tender carrots, pearl onions, asparagus and mashed potatoes, for $21.
This is Maison Kayser's seventh Manhattan location. It opened its first New York outpost in 2012 on the Upper East Side. They're also soon opening a West Village location, according its website.
The restaurant takes the place of The Harrison, a beloved a 14-year-old TriBeCa eatery that shuttered in December, reportedly after a rent increase.
Maison Kayser is open 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
The company did not immediately return request for comment.
