Driver Runs into Woman, Knocking Her to the Ground After Argument: Police

LOWER EAST SIDE — A Manhattan driver knocked down a woman with her car after an argument last weekend, police said.

Taiisha Stewart, 32, hit the 31-year-old victim at 7:30 p.m. on July 11 in front of 315 E. Houston St. The collision causing a bruise on the woman's forehead and “substantial pain,” according to a criminal complaint from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office.

 

Stewart was charged with assault and was released of her own recognizance, according to the district attorney’s office. Her attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
