MANHATTAN — Inwood residents opposed to a planned 300-person nightspot on Dyckman Street are petitioning the State Liquor Authority to deny the proposed estblishment's bid to serve booze.

The would-be venue at 160 Dyckman St. — described as a Dominican-themed restaurant and bar BY the co-owner of Astoria Brewhouse and Brooklyn Brewhouse — would cover three floors and also include an 80-person rooftop terrace.

After Community Board 12 voted against recommending a liquor license for the space, a Change.org petition was launched to press the SLA to deny the nightspot's application.

Dyckman Street "is already saturated with lounges on the west side of Broadway," read the petition, which had garnered 140 supporters as of Tuesday afternoon. "This proposed venue is too large for the area."

The petition goes on to name potential noise and crowds from the venue as reasons not to grant it a license.

"BASTA!!!!!" Laura Ayala has commented on the petition. "Can't someone come up with an idea for a business that does not involve MORE booze?" The SLA makes the final decision in liquor license applications.
