Man Slashed in Unprovoked Daytime Attack While Standing on FiDi Block: NYPD

FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A Brooklyn man was randomly slashed by a knife-wielding stranger as he stood near Battery Park last week, police said.

On July 1, the 35-year-old victim was standing on the corner of State and Pearl streets at about 1 p.m., when a man quickly sliced his left forearm and wrist, then ran off, police said.

The victim was taken to New York Downtown Hospital for treatment.

Police are still investigating the attack.
