LOWER EAST SIDE — A 28-year-old man fell two stories to his death early Sunday morning after he slipped off a balcony railing, police said.

Witnesses told police the man was sitting on the railing when he fell from the sixth floor at 38 Delancey St. and hit his head on the fourth-floor balcony at 2:30 a.m., according to the NYPD.

The man, whose identity has not yet been released, was partying with friends before the incident, according to news reports.

"They were drinking, having a good time," security guard Christian Rivera, 28, told the New York Daily News.

"One of their friends was sitting on the balcony rail when very quickly he leaned back and fell over to the fourth floor,” he told the paper. "He fell head first, his body was just lying there."

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His death was ruled an accident, and no criminality is suspected, according to the NYPD.
