Saturday, June 27

Day of Dance

Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace

Snug Harbor presents the Day of Dance with two performances. At 4 p.m., The Equus Projects will present "Grazing Gracefully" featuring five dancers and two horses. Tickets are $15. At 6 p.m., the last Performance Arts Salons Saturdays of the summer will feature avant-garde pieces by Vicky Shick, Meg Harper and Yoshiko Chuma. Tickets are $10.

► The Heart of Art Festival

Where: Techbox, 75 Clinton St.

The all day outdoor festival will have live music, DJs, poetry readings, comedians, body painting and lots of original art for sale. The $5 event also includes the award ceremony for the "Cinematic Uprising" short-film contest held in April. The event starts at 2 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m., with an after party being held at Hashtag Bar.

► Kala Lolo: A Night of Queer Amusements

Where: Deep Tanks Studio, 150 Bay St.

The 5th Kala Lolo returns to Deep Tanks with burlesque, mermaid paintings, penguin inspired drag and  musical guests. Tickets are $5 and doors open at 8:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 28

FemaleCentric Festival

Where: Hashtag Bar, 388 Van Duzer St.

Stereotype Clothing and Unicorn Empress present the first FemaleCentric Festival "empowerment" festival from 4 to 9 p.m. The event features panel speakers on the topics of politics to the future of feminism, an urban fashion show, live music and performances by poets and visual artists. Tickets are $10.

► Flagship Wing Fest

Where: Flagship Brewery, 40 Minthorne St.

The first annual chicken wing festival at Flagship Brewery kicks off at noon with more than 15 local restaurants showing off their wings paired with beer from the brewery. The festival will also include live music by local bands.

7th Annual Polish Festival

Where: Snug Harbor Cultural Center, 1000 Richmond Terrace

The 7th annual Polish Festival, hosted by St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, brings beer, kielbasa, live bands and Polish dances to the grounds of Snug Harbor. The festival is from noon to 8 p.m. and it costs $5 to enter.
