LOWER EAST SIDE — Police arrested a teenager who attempted to rob an 81-year-old man last weekend.

The 15-year-old boy, whose name is being withheld because of his age, grabbed the elderly man’s wrist and went through his pockets at the southwest corner of Jefferson Street and East Broadway at 7:35 p.m. on June 20, police said.

Police arrested the teenager later that day and found a hammer when they searched him, according to the NYPD. He was taken into custody at the 7th Precinct stationhouse, where the 15-year-old broke a department computer and keyboard, police said.
