CHELSEA — Police arrested four people for cocaine and marijuana in Chelsea last weekend.

Two men were arrested for possession of cocaine at the corner of Eighth Avenue and West 17th Street on June 19 at 3:15 a.m.

Two other people were arrested near Seventh Avenue and West 27th Street on June 20 at about 3:30 p.m. for trying to throw marijuana out of a car window.

Police pulled over an 18-year-old woman for talking on her phone while driving. Police then observed the passenger, a 19-year-old man, toss bags of marijuana out the car window.

When the couple was stopped, police saw marijuana residue and smelled marijuana, they said. They found 9 bags of marijuana and a scale in the car.

The two were arrested for tampering with physical evidence, a felony, officials said.
