When a male passenger "manspreads" — or splays his legs to the point that he takes up extra seating space on a bus or train — we are quick to criticize him for his particularly masculine sense of entitlement.

But what if serial manspreaders are not doing so voluntarily? What if it's actually a symptom of a chronic yet little-known affliction known as "manspreaditis?"

Mark Malkoff explores the debilitating medical condition in his humorous short, "The REAL Reason Men 'Manspread'." Watch, learn and perhaps cast a more compassionate eye toward the disease's victims the next time one keeps you from a seat on your 45-minute evening commute.
