WEST VILLAGE — A 35-year-old man in comfortable footwear smashed the glass storefront window of West Village lounge Employees Only, police said.

Police said the man, who was wearing brown moccasins or loafers, punched the window at 510 Hudson St. about 3:40 a.m. on June 10.

It was unclear why the man smashed the window. Police said the incident was reported by the Hudson Street bar's security guard.

The man was charged with misdemeanor criminal mischief with intent to damage property. He had an arrest warrant for not appearing in court for a summons he got in 2012 for “offensive matter in the street or a public place,” records show.

The judge at his June 10 arraignment agreed to dismiss the 2012 charges as long as he remains out of trouble until Dec. 9.

He was released without bail and is due back in court on Aug. 12, records show. His lawyer did not immediately return a phone call.

Employees Only declined to comment on the incident.
