Man Found Dead on L Train Subway Tracks Near Union Square, Police Say

MANHATTAN — A man was found dead on the L train subway tracks near Union Square Thursday morning, police said.

The 24-year-old man, whose name was not immediately released, was found about 4:45 a.m. inside the station at 14th Street and Third Avenue, NYPD officials said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

It was not immediately clear how he got onto the tracks or if he was hit by a train, police said.

The medical examiner's office will determine how he died, police said.
