CHELSEA — A $5,600 racing bike mounted to the wall of a West 18th Street apartment building hallway was stolen after the building's front door was left open for construction workers, the NYPD said.

The black-and-white BMC SLR Team Machine, a bike model used by pro cyclists including the 2010 Tour de France winner, was stolen from the hallway at 301 W. 18th St. the afternoon of May 21, according to authorities.

The bike was locked inside a mount anchored into the wall in the building’s hallway, but the mount was ripped out of the wall along with the bike, NYPD said.

The building’s front door had been left open because of ongoing construction, authorities said.
