$1,240 Bass and Amp Stolen From Car Parked in Chelsea, Police Say

CHELSEA — A $1,240 Music Man StingRay bass guitar and $784 Mark bass amplifier were stolen from a 40-year-old man's car while he was at a concert, police said.

The man parked outside 239 W. 14th St. at 10:30 p.m. on May 29, according to authorities. When he returned to his car at 11 p.m., the equipment was missing, the NYPD said.

The StingRay is the preferred bass of Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and John Deacon of Queen, according to Reverb.
