CHELSEA — A Queens man and woman were arrested for attempting to smuggle a car full of fireworks into the city via the Lincoln Tunnel Thursday, according to authorities.

The Woodhaven pair bought $3,500 worth of fireworks in Pennsylvania, FDNY officials said, and likely intended to sell them for the July 4 weekend.

Authorities spotted the fireworks in their car as they drove in the tunnel roughly 3 p.m., officials said.

The 37-year-old man and 33-year-old woman, whose names were not released, were charged with possession of dangerous fireworks, a misdemeanor.

The haul will be destroyed by a bomb squad, officials said.
