UPPER WEST SIDE — The French and New American mainstay Ouest plans to close this week, a former employee said.

The longtime neighborhood spot on Broadway at West 84th Street opened in 2001 and was led by chef and owner Tom Valenti.

Ouest was lauded by neighborhood chefs as one of the only "nice" and upscale restaurants in the neighborhood.

Entrees ranged from $29 to $54 and included steak, lamb and salmon dishes.

The restaurant is officially closing next Saturday, June 13, said a former employee who asked not to be named.

Ouest did not immediately respond to request for comment.
