Bill de Blasio appeared on "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart" on Tuesday night to discuss income inequality and gun control. Check out the full interview here.

In the nearly 20 minute segment, the mayor explained his theory on the relationship between those two hot-button issues.

"We’re not going to get to greater unity as a nation on an issue like gun control until we deal with economic reality first," he said.

Stewart managed to get in the lightest of jabs about "de Blasio's New York."

"Stick around and when we come back, we’re going to talk about how you have ruined the city and everyone is going to die soon," Stewart deadpanned.

Chirlane and Dante were also on hand at the taping, as shown in a photo posted by "The Daily Show" in which New York City's nearly-complete first family dwarfs the host.
