Final Four 'Broken Angel' Condos Hit Market for $1.4M to $2.4M

CLINTON HILL — The final four condos up for grabs at the former "Broken Angel" house site hit the market for up to $2.4 million. 

The units boast sliding glass doors, private gardens, oversize kitchens and master suites with spacious walk-in closets and are available for $1.395 and $1.5 million for two-bedrooms and $2.295 and $2.375 for three-bedrooms.

The building also controversially features artwork from the former Broken Angel House, including two cast concrete angel faces and a terra cotta sculpture, which were used without the permission of artist and former property owner Arthur Wood.

Wood was evicted from the property at 4 Downing St. after the city deemed it unsafe in 2013.

Prior to that he spent 30 years living and transforming the home into a work of art with asymmetrical towers, bizarre angles, brick wings and stained glass that later gained notoriety when it was used as the backdrop for the movie "Dave Chappelle's Block Party."

Developer Alex Barrett bought the site for $4.1 million last year.

The house was converted into 10 condos. Six units, all 2-bedrooms, were listed last month and have already been sold for $1.2 to $1.6 million, according to the building's website.

The latest units to be listed are expected to be ready for move-in this fall.
