BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A 3,000-square-foot backyard beer garden will serve up its first brews this weekend in Bed-Stuy.

The Lab, housed behind gastropub Khemistry Bar, debuts on Saturday with $5 wine and beer all day.

The outdoor space, at 216 Malcolm X Blvd., will serve 10 craft brews including Queens Lager, Harpoon Cider and Founders All Day IPA, according to owner and chef Shana Cooper-Silas.

“We hope that this will be the new local venue space with an eclectic mix of families and the younger crowd,” Cooper-Silas said.

“This is going to be the largest beer garden in Bed-Stuy, the closest you’ll find to what we offer would be Bushwick or Williamsburg.”

The Lab will offer a separate drink and food menu from Khemistry, with frozen cocktails, wine, sliders, and Mazie’s Bites fish tacos all available to order via iPad table service.

The space offers communal-style seating for more than 200 people on picnic tables, old church pews and tree stumps scattered throughout the yard.

Families can enjoy free arts and crafts for kids on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and The Lab will also hold movie screenings, live music and supper clubs this summer, Cooper-Silas said.

The Lab hosts its “Backyard Boogie” grand opening on May 2 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.
