14 Subway Lines Affected by Service Changes This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — With temperatures expected to reach the high 70s, it looks like a great weekend for a bike ride or a walk and a lousy weekend to take the subway. 

Service changes will hit 14 subway lines over the weekend, the MTA said.

Here's a breakdown:

1 Train

Southbound 1 trains will run express from 145th Street to 96th Street starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday morning.

3 Train

3 trains won’t run between Franklin Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Shuttle buses will run between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue making all 3 train stops.     

4 trains will also run local between Franklin Avenue and Crown Heights-Utica Avenue all weekend.

3 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until September 2015. Free shuttle buses will be provided.

4 Train

4 trains are suspended in both directions between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 7:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:30 p.m. Sunday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will run all weekend long between Crown Heights-Utica Avenue and New Lots Avenue, making all stops.

All 4 trains will skip Rockaway Avenue and Van Siclen Avenue in both directions at all times until September 2015.

Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will run express between from 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street and Bronx-bound trains will run express between 14th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

5 Train

5 trains won’t run in either direction between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

6 Train

Southbound 6 trains will run express from 125th Street to Grand Central-42nd Street starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Bronx-bound 6 trains will run express from 14th Street-Union Square to Grand Central-42nd Street starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

A Train

Northbound A trains run local from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Rockaway-bound A trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until the summer.

C Train

C trains will run every 15 minutes from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.

D Train

Bronx-bound D trains are rerouted on the N line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street starting at 3:45 a.m. Saturday until 10:00 p.m. Sunday.

Brooklyn-bound D trains run local from 145th Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m Monday.

E Train

Eastbound trains E trains in Queens will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m on Saturday and Sunday and from 12:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday morning.

Eastbound E trains in Queens will also run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue and Manhattan-bound trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to Queens Plaza from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

F Train

Queens-bound F trains are rerouted to the M line from Rockefeller Center to Roosevelt Avenue from 9:45 p.m. on Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday.

Eastbound F trains in Queens will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 12:30 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday. Brooklyn-bound F trains will run local from Forest Hills-71st Avenue to 21st Street-Queensbridge during the same times.

L Train

L trains won’t run in either direction between 8th Avenue and Lorimer Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday.

L trains will be running between Lorimer Street and Rockaway Parkway.

To get between Manhattan and Brooklyn, you can use J or M trains, the M14 bus and free shuttle buses that will run between Lorimer Street and the Broadway G station that will be making stops at Bedford Avenue, Marcy Avenue and Hewes Street.

M Train

M service is extended to the 57th Street F line station from 6:30 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday and from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Sunday.

Q Train

Manhattan-bound Q trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 5:45 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

R Train

Forest Hills-71st Avenue bound R trains run express from Queens Plaza to Forest Hills-71st Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and Sunday.
