PHOTOS: Spring Finally Blooms in New York City

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden's annual Sakura Matsuri Cherry Blossom Festival is this coming weekend, but as we've noted with delight, trees around the city have already been bursting into bloom for a little more than a week now. Here are some of our favorite shots of blossoms around the city:

Do you like your blossoms paired with skyscrapers?

Perhaps you prefer brownstones.

Grey skies can do their worst, but they're hard put to make a blossom-packed vista seem any less cheery.

There's something stately about ample, elegant magnolia trees sidewalk-side.

And taking shelter from a spring shower under a blossoming tree in Central Park is undeniably cinematic.

This photo of blossoms by a Crown Heights bodega won the praise of DNAinfo's own Rachel Holliday Smith:

And finally — if you're trying to decide how best to tour the blooms gracing your neighborhood, consider your bike.
