CROWN HEIGHTS — A 21-year-old woman died in an apparent suicide this weekend after hanging herself from her apartment building's fire escape, police said.

Police found the body of Jennifer Lubanko hanging from her apartment building at 161 Utica Ave. between St. Marks Avenue and Prospect Place at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Her body was left hanging for more than an hour before authorities covered it with a sheet, neighbors told the New York Post.

Lubanko lived with a roommate and her pet dachshund, according to the Daily News.

Though it appears her death was a suicide, officials said, the medical examiner will make a final determination in the investigation.
