Convicted Sex Offender Arrested in Gramercy Bar Rape

MANHATTAN — A serial rapist was arrested Wednesday and charged with raping a woman inside a Gramercy bar restroom over the weekend, according to the NYPD.

Rodney Stover, 48, who has two prior arrests for rape, attacked a 23-year-old woman inside Turnmill at 119 E. 27th Street at about 7:45 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Stover, who lives within walking distance of the bar at a homeless shelter at 400 East 30th St., was charged with rape and sexual assault after being apprehended.

He was convicted of a knife point rape in 1993 in Southampton, NY, according to state records.

He was expected to be arraigned in Manhattan Criminal Court.

The woman was treated at Lenox Hill HealthPlex.
