FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A specialty coffee house will soon be pouring its gourmet brews at the base of Frank Gehry's soaring Financial District luxury residential tower.

Birch Coffee, which has four other locations throughout Manhattan, is slated to open at the 8 Spruce St. building in late 2015, the company said.

The cafe will be the only commercial tenant inside the 76-story skyscraper, which opened in 2011. A public elementary school, the Spruce Street School, is also located in the massive building with a rippling, steel exterior.

Birch Coffee opened their first store in Flatiron in October 2009. Since then, they have built the brand into a mini-chain, opening outposts on the Upper West Side, the West Village and Chelsea. They plan to open another location in Murray Hill as well.

The shop is known for its expert coffee bean roasting, as well as its cold brewed iced coffee, which has been named one of the best by Imbibe magazine.
