THE BRONX — A man pushed his way into a Morrisania apartment and put a 79-year-old tenant in a headlock before stealing her and another woman's jewelry, police said.
The man, who can be seen in video released by police, knocked on the door of the East 163rd Street apartment about 5:45 p.m. and then forced his way in when the home health aide answered the door, NYPD officials said.
He shoved the 43-year-old aide to the ground and then put the 79-year-old woman into a headlock, police said.
The suspect took the elderly woman's necklace and earrings and the younger woman's necklace and bracelet, police said.
He dropped the bracelet as he fled the scene, police said.
Investigators continue to search for the thief, who stands about 5-foot-11 and weighs 200 pounds, police said.
