BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — Welcome to Brooklyn, Hillary Clinton.
The campaign for the former Secretary of State and presidential hopeful signed a lease for two floors in a Brooklyn Heights building, Politico first reported.
The floors of 1 Pierrepont Plaza in Brooklyn Heights, at Cadman Plaza West and Pierrepont Street, have 80,000-square-feet of space and the lease began on April 1, a source close to the deal confirmed to DNAinfo.
The building, owned by Forest City Ratner, also houses Morgan Stanley and the Brooklyn U.S. Attorney's Office and is marketed as "Modern Offices, Brooklyn Cool," according to the website.
"Brooklyn is now rightly the center of the universe as it should be and people want to move in," said Thies.
"She will have the best access to talent because she is located where they want to live. She's not having people move to a small city in the middle of nowhere," he added.
The cool factor could also help Clinton with voters.
"Clinton has to motivate her base and that means getting young people to vote. She is an older candidate now and having that cool appeal can motivate young voters suspect of her long history in politics and her age," said Thies.
1 Pierrepont Plaza is located near Brooklyn Borough Hall and is 19 stories tall with a 24-hour lobby and underground parking garage.
It is unclear what rent will be. The website shows that the eighth through 11th floors and the 13th floor are still available to rent.
Forest City Ratner and Clinton's office did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
