QUEENS — A 61-year-old man was killed in a hit-and-run while he jay-walked in Auburndale Wednesday night, police said.
The man, whose name was not immediately released, was crossing 46th Avenue near Utopia Parkway about 11:39 p.m. when the vehicle hit him, NYPD officials said.
He suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at Flushing Hospital, police said.
The vehicle fled the scene afterwards, police said.
Investigators were still trying to figure out what kind of vehicle killed the man, police said.
