WILLIAMSBURG — Celebrity chef Michael Psilakis will open the fourth outpost of his modern Greek restaurant MP Taverna on Driggs Avenue next month, right next to his forthcoming performance venue.
Psilakis, who was awarded a Michelin star while at upscale Greek restaurant Anthos, will debut the restaurant at 470 Driggs Ave. some time in April, according to spokeswoman Denise Psyhogios.
The eatery — which has locations in Astoria, Long Island and Westchester — is a casual spot known for dishes like a grilled octopus appetizer, grilled branzino and Greek dips.
Psilakis has had the Williamsburg location in the works for years, initially announcing it in 2010. However, the Driggs Avenue spot will be slightly different from the other ones, Psychogios said.
The menu will focus more on small plates so that diners will be able to try an assortment of dishes, she said.
Psilakis will also be spearheading another project next door, a restaurant and live performance venue called The Hall.
Details about The Hall are still in the works, but the menu will also be Greek, Psychogios noted.
In addition to MP Taverna, Psilakis owns FISHTAG and Kefi, both on the Upper West Side.
He's also a co-star on the BBC America cooking reality competition show "No Kitchen Required," in which chefs are sent to remote locations and must work with locals to find ingredients for a meal.

► A Mexican restaurant serving steak, short ribs and fish tacos has opened in Bushwick. Dishes at Amaranto, at 887 Hart St., run from $3 for steak, pork or fish tacos to $17 for a steak with poblano peppers, cheese, onion puree and a chile manzano sauce. It is open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.
► Upscale cocktail bar Billet and Bellows is now serving food. The bar, which was opened at 177 Grand St. by longtime local artist and welder Kristina Kozak, now offers bar bites like grilled cheese with caramelized onion, hot soft pretzel with a whiskey mustard dipping sauce, and chicken liver toast with chutney and cornichons.
► An Indian restaurant called Tandoor Masala has opened in Bushwick at 1695 Broadway, Brownstoner reported. The spot serves traditional Indian dishes, with entrees ranging between $10 and $20.
► Custom design surfboard shop Union Surfboards has opened a location in Greenpoint, according to Racked. The men behind the new store at 117 Dobbins St. work with each customer to bring the best possible surfboard design to life.
