Paintball Attack on Jewish Man Investigated as Hate Crime, Police Say

SOUTH WILLIAMSBURG — A Jewish man was shot with a paintball gun Sunday evening, in what's being investigated as a hate crime, police said.

The Hasidic Jewish man in his 30s was walking near Hewes Street and Kent Avenue between 9 and 11 p.m. Sunday evening when he was shot at with a paintball gun and injured, officers from the 90th Precinct said.

It was unclear if he was still being treated for his injuries on Monday.

Police are investigating the incident.
