STATEN ISLAND — An off-duty NYPD recruit was arrested Monday morning after he threatened his girlfriend with a gun, police said.
James Destasio, 24, an NYPD probationary police officer, threatened his girlfriend with the weapon in Staten Island Sunday around 10 a.m. Sunday, police said.
Destasio was arrested Monday morning and charged with menacing and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
