DITMARS — A man with a history of schizophrenia and other illnesses has been missing for two weeks after he walked out of his Astoria home earlier this month without shoes.

Phillip Arabadjis, 63, was last seen Feb. 12 leaving his apartment near 20th Avenue and 20th Street, according to his daughter Heather Arabadjis. She said he takes medication for schizophrenia, diabetes and the lung disease COPD, and had recently shown signs of dementia.

"We think that he might be in the hospital, and he may be as an unknown and a John Doe," she said. "We don’t know, but we've been just looking everywhere, and we don’t know what else to do."

She and other searchers have been handing out fliers and calling hospitals daily in the hopes of locating Arabadjis, who is described as 5-foot-11 and 290 pounds, with brown eyes and gray and brown hair.

He was last seen wearing a blue shirt with black sweatpants and no shoes or jacket, according to a missing persons flier.

Those who want to help can post fliers — available on a Facebook page created for the search — in their neighborhoods or around their subway stops. There is a $10,000 reward being offered for information that leads to locating Arabadjis.

"I just want to know where he is," his daughter said.

Anyone who sees Arabadjis can call 911, or contact the 114th Precinct at (718) 626-9335.
