BROOKLYN — A man was killed after being struck by a bus in Midwood Friday afternoon, according to officials.
The private bus struck the man while he was walking across Avenue M at Coney Island Avenue in the crosswalk at about 2:11 p.m., officials said.
The bus was traveling southbound on Coney Island and was attempting to make a right onto Avenue M when it struck the man, according to an NYPD spokesman.
The man’s body, which was covered by a sheet, was seen laying just behind the front passenger-side tire of the private school bus.
The driver remained on the scene and was not initially arrested, according to the NYPD.
