BROOKLYN — A massive fire broke out in a warehouse along the Williamsburg waterfront early Saturday morning, officials said, sending a plume of thick smoke into the air that was visible for miles.

The six-alarm blaze at 5 N 11th Street, near Kent Avenue, broke out at roughly 6 a.m., the FDNY tweeted.  Firefighters on land and in fire boats battled the blaze amid freezing temperatures into Saturday afternoon.

No injuries were immediately reported.

The building houses a storage facility. Paper records stored at the facility were fueling the fire, the New York Times reported.

A fire earlier Saturday morning was also reported, the Times said. It was not immediately clear whether the two fires were connected.

The city's Office of Emergency Management tweeted that residents should expect traffic delays in the area as first responders battled the blaze.
