QUEENS — A man who was accidentally shot in the head by his brother during a shootout in the lobby a Queens building died Friday, five days after the incident, sources said.

During the shooting, which took place on Jan. 25, at about 11:20 p.m. two groups of men clashed in the lobby of a Rochdale Village building, on 127th Avenue, near the 113th Precinct stationhouse.

Two men — Randell Cassimy, 24, of South Jamaica, and Sean Van Williams, 20, who lived in the building where the shooting took place — were both shot in the head by a man, who sources said was Van Williams’ brother.

Sources said that the suspect shot his brother accidentally.

Police said that a security guard found the victims.

Cassimy, who police said also had a gun, was shot once in the head and died at the scene. It was not clear if he fired the gun.

Van Williams, who was also shot once in the head, was taken to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries Friday, authorities said.

The suspect was identified as Van Williams’ brother after the shooting was caught on surveillance cameras, sources said.

There were no arrests as of Friday afternoon. Police have a further description of the gunman.

It was not immediately clear what prompted the shooting.
