ELM PARK — A 16-building apartment complex on Trantor Place sold for nearly $18 million to a private investor, it was announced Wednesday.

The complex, which has 177-units at 150, 160 and 220 Trantor Place, was sold by Ariel Property Advisors after being on the market since July 2014, the realtors said. The buildings have 71 two-bedroom and 106 one-bedroom units.

“Multifamily trades of this size in Staten Island are rare, but based on the response we received to the Trantor Portfolio, demand for this type of product is strong,” said Victor Sozio, vice president of Ariel Property Advisors in a statement.

“With the new and exciting Staten Island developments in the works, especially around the ferry terminal, we expect this investor interest to grow.”

The property was sold for $17.89 million by a realty investment firm to Crown Heights based Parkway Realty Group, the Real Deal reported.
