UNION SQUARE — A group of Whole Foods Market employees were caught on a video beating an apparently drunk man who was trying to enter the supermarket after hours.

The video, recorded the night of Dec. 30, a spokesperson for Whole Foods said, shows the man trying to force himself into the store despite employees warning him to leave.

Grub Street reported the story first and the video first appeared on LiveLeak.

The dark, shaky video shows the workers shoving, punching and kicking the man, who at one point says, "I'm a veteran. Don't do that."

“Whole Foods Market is aware of the incident,” the spokesperson said. “The team members identified so far in the video have been placed on administrative leave while we complete our internal investigation. We take all incidents involving team members, customers and members of our community seriously and consider safety and security a top priority.”

No police report has been filed so far.
