THE BRONX — A man grabbed an MTA worker in a bear hug in the Tremont Avenue subway station last Tuesday, pushed her to the platform and choked her, according to the NYPD.
The 28-year-old uniformed worker was on the southbound D train platform Dec. 23 about 2:30 a.m. when the man approached her from behind and engulfed her in the bear hug, police said.
He then pushed her to the platform floor and began to choke her.
The man fled before seriously hurting the worker, though she suffered minor injuries to her head, neck and back and was treated at a nearby hospital, according to the NYPD.
Police said the suspect is about 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds with short brown hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black jacket, brown pants and black sneakers.
