WILLIAMSBURG — The Trash Bar will likely close this spring after its 10-year lease runs out, according to the bar's longtime booking manager.

Music booker Walter Stack, who's worked at the bar for nine years, said that the live music spot must move out of its 256 Grand St. location when the lease ends. The closing was first reported by TimeOut New York.

Owner Aaron Pierce is looking at relocating, but where and when is still up in the air, Stack said.

"The rent has skyrocketed in the area where we’re currently located," Stack said. "We'll probably be looking more in Bushwick."

Pierce did not respond to a request for comment. It's unclear when The Trash Bar will move out as it negotiates a final date, Stack said, though a spring closing is likely.

Many of the employees are also musicians who are "bummed" about the impending closure, Stack said.

"It's a huge drag for all of us," he said. We're losing our jobs. We're losing a place that we play a lot. Nobody's thrilled about it."
