JACKSON HEIGHTS — A young dad was fatally stabbed and a man shot on the same 37th Avenue corner within days of each other, police said.

The shooting appears to be gang-related, but the two incidents don't appear to be related, officials said.

Steven Shimabuku, 25, was fatally stabbed near 90th Street at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, police said.

His girlfriend told the Daily News that Shimabuku, who had a 3-year-old son and worked as a plumber, left their nearby basement apartment to get a haircut but came running back inside moments later after being stabbed.

Shimabuku was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, police said.

Police are investigating the stabbing and haven't made any arrests, according to the NYPD.

Then on Monday night, another man, whose name and age were not released, was shot following a fight just before 8 p.m., police said.

He was hit once in the back and is in critical condition at Elmhurst Hospital, according to the NYPD.
