PORT RICHMOND — A man was stabbed and killed on Sunday after he asked a person for some beer on a Staten Island street, police said.

An unidentified man was walking outside near the corner of Faber Street and Harrison Avenue drinking beer around 5 p.m. when Durrell Finley, 26, stopped him and asked for a sip, police said.

He refused to give Finley any and the two got into a scuffle, police said.

The man called a friend for help and three others joined in the fight. Sergio Carreto, 26, who lives on Faber Street, stabbed Finley in the torso during the scuffle, police said.

After police arrived, Finley was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Carreto was arrested later Sunday and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
