FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A man stole $1,445 worth of hair dryers, curling irons and straighteners from a Downtown Duane Reade last week, police said.

The shoplifter headed into the Duane Reade at 100 Broadway with two large shopping bags, and quickly filled them with an entire shelf’s worth of hair tools and products, police said.

The man stole 26 items, including a $100 Conair Curl Secret,  a $130 Conair 3Q hair dryer and three Conair flat irons worth about $50 each, at about 11 a.m. on Dec. 6.

A store employee tried to confront the thief as he was leaving, police said, but the shoplifter just continued out of the store with the stolen goods.

No one had been arrested as of Tuesday.

► A woman had her $350 Marc Jacobs purse stolen from the back of her chair while she ate at a Pret A Manger on Dec. 5, police said. The 34-year-old woman told police she noticed her bag was missing from the 100 Church St. eatery at about 2 p.m. The purse contained her iPhone and $300 in cash. The store declined to comment.

► A man stole two women’s vests, each priced at $1,496, from the Ralph Lauren boutique at 109 Prince St. on Dec. 4. Police said the shoplifter swiped the vests at about 11 a.m., then walked out of the store. The store did not immediately return a request for comment.
