COBBLE HILL — American Beer Distributing Company, a purveyor of beers from more than 100 breweries, is closing its doors in Cobble Hill, a store employee confirmed.

Owners of the shop, which was founded in 1947, announced the closure on a notice that was posted outside its 256 Court St. location.

“[W]e would like to thank the community for the nearly 70 years of patronage,” the notice read.

“It has been our pleasure to serve you thru the years. All the best in the coming years.”

Management declined to comment for the story, and it was not immediately clear why the shop was closing.

An employee at the shop said it did not know of a scheduled closing date but expected it would be near the end of the year.

From Abbaye de Leffe to Yuengling, the Company sold beers from dozens of breweries, as well as sodas, juices and bottled water.

The store features a huge range of imported, domestic and local beers sold in bottles, kegs and growlers, according to its website.
