UPPER WEST SIDE — A man broke into a West 72nd Street luggage and handbag store last week and stole pocketbooks worth more than $3,000, police said.
The suspect smashed the bottom glass pane of the front door of Big Bag at 175 W. 72nd Street on Nov. 4 about 6:40 a.m. before snatching five pocketbooks and fleeing the shop, according to police.
He is described by police as wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and a tan hat.
The store's staff was not immediately available for comment.
