VIDEO: Woman Slashed Repeatedly in Building Elevator, Police Say

MELROSE — A woman was slashed repeatedly in the face by a stranger in the elevator of her apartment building on Saturday morning, police said.

The suspect attacked the 57-year-old victim about 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 8 at East 156th Street and Third Avenue in the 40th Precinct, according to the NYPD.

The man, described as about 40 years old and 5-foot-8-inches, is seen on video released by police in a black jacket with the hood up slashing at the woman as he leaves the elevator.

She was taken to Lincoln Hospital to be treated for her injuries, police said.
