JACKSON HEIGHTS — Officials are hosting a visioning session to discuss the future of Diversity Plaza.

The Department of Transportation is set to host the meeting on Saturday, Oct. 18 at P.S. 69 at 77-02 37th Ave., starting at 2 p.m.

Residents can discuss their ideas to improve the space, on 37th Road near 74th Street, as well as brainstorm about permanent options.

The DOT will also present the next phases and project timeline for the park.

The plaza, which opened three years ago, received $500,000 in 2013 from City Councilman Danny Dromm to help pay for better lighting and more seating.

The DOT also set aside $2 million for permanent changes.
