CROWN HEIGHTS — A bar located inside a former tattoo parlor and a kosher burger joint are set to move into the neighborhood after their liquor license applications got the greenlight from Community Board 8 Thursday night.
Drink, a new bar set to open inside 768 Franklin Ave. at St. Johns Place, plans to serve hors d'oeuvres and tapas seven days a week in their 28-seat space and backyard, according to their application to CB8. The bar, located just south of Dutch Boy Burger, will be open until 1 a.m. Sundays through Wednesdays, the board said, and until 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The board also approved a beer and wine license for Beouf & Bun, a kosher burger restaurant planning to move in at 271 Kingston Ave. at Lincoln Place, according to their application. The space will accommodate up to 38 customers, the board said, and will be open every day at noon except Saturdays. The restaurant is now under construction, according to its Facebook page, and has no opening date yet, telling customers only to “get ready for a better burger.”
The board also approved two liquor licenses for Castle Hill's Bar and Grill, which was formerly known as Anthony’s Corner Cafe since that restaurant opened in 2008. The two-story bar and restaurant at 421 St. Johns Place at Utica Avenue is operating under new management, the board said, and has had no significant change in operation.
The State Liquor Authority will make a final decision on the applications.
